Cop ‘used car to stop man’

A COP is be­ing pros­e­cuted af­ter he al­legedly used a pa­trol car to stop a man, caus­ing him in­juries.

Pc Steven Mul­laney, 40, has been sum­monsed to face charges of as­sault oc­ca­sion­ing ac­tual bod­ily harm, dan­ger­ous driv­ing and at­tempt­ing to per­vert the course of jus­tice fol­low­ing an In­de­pen­dent Po­lice Com­plaints Com­mis­sion (IPCC) probe.

The IPCC said the charges re­late to an in­ci­dent in Brad­ford, West Yorks, on March 18 when a po­lice car driven by PC Mul­laney was in col­li­sion with a 38-year-old man who suf­fered in­juries to his shoul­der and an­kle.

A spokesman said it is also al­leged the of­fi­cer made a bid to con­ceal ev­i­dence.

Mul­laney will ap­pear at Sh­effield Mag­is­trates’ Court on Oc­to­ber 22.
