Cop ‘used car to stop man’
A COP is being prosecuted after he allegedly used a patrol car to stop a man, causing him injuries.
Pc Steven Mullaney, 40, has been summonsed to face charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice following an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) probe.
The IPCC said the charges relate to an incident in Bradford, West Yorks, on March 18 when a police car driven by PC Mullaney was in collision with a 38-year-old man who suffered injuries to his shoulder and ankle.
A spokesman said it is also alleged the officer made a bid to conceal evidence.
Mullaney will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on October 22.
