Olympic ace is stalked by nut 11 years

BBC com­men­ta­tor and for­mer Olympic star Gillian Clark was stalked and re­ceived death threats by a woman for 11 years.

Su­san Maynard only met bad­minton ace Gillian ( above), 51, once be­fore she started threat­en­ing to kill her.

Maynard, also 51,has now been jailed for two years for breach­ing a re­strain­ing or­der nine times.

Hull Crown Court heard Miss Clark, a Great Bri­tain Olympic quar­ter-fi­nal­ist, only briefly met Maynard once in 2001.

She had em­ployed a gar­dener and Maynard had ac­com­pa­nied him to her home in Kent.

The next day, Maynard be­gan bom­bard­ing her with abu­sive calls, even­tu­ally threat­en­ing to kill her.

De­spite be­ing given a re­strain­ing or­der in 2002, and be­ing jailed for 12 months in 2010, Maynard has con­tin­ued to breach the or­der from her home in Hornsea, Yorks.

Maynard pleaded guilty to harass­ment and breach­ing a re­strain­ing or­der.
