KP in line for England comeback

Midweek Sport - - THURSDAY OCTOBER 4 -

KEVIN PIETERSEN will today be welcomed back into the England fold.

A press conference is expected to reveal that the South Africaborn batsman will agree a central contract.

Pietersen missed England’s defence of their World Twenty20 crown because of his contract wrangles and the breakdown of his working relationship with coach Andy Flower and former Test captain Andrew Strauss.

But peace may have broken out – and Pietersen assured one follower on Twitter yesterday that he will be “back soon”.

He should return to the fold for at least some part of England’s winter tour in India and then New Zealand.

Flower said: “The situation is ongoing. I think it’s nearing an end now – in a positive way, I hope.”
