Crash cop gets a one-way tick-off
A POLICE car worth £15K was a write-off when a blundering woman cop drove it the WRONG WAY down a one-way street.
Drivers had to swerve as the Ford Focus came towards them before it hit another car.
The accident happened in Cardiff city centre when the police car with its sirens on turned into the one-way street during an emergency. The driver was prosecuted for driving without due care and attention.
Documents reveal the vehicle, valued at £14,616, was “damaged beyond affordable repair”.
One male and two female cops in the car were injured.
A South Wales Police Federation spokesman said: “Police officers have to make split-second decisions under huge pressure and occasionally make the wrong decision.”
