Crash cop gets a one-way tick-off

A PO­LICE car worth £15K was a write-off when a blun­der­ing woman cop drove it the WRONG WAY down a one-way street.

Driv­ers had to swerve as the Ford Fo­cus came to­wards them be­fore it hit an­other car.

The ac­ci­dent hap­pened in Cardiff city cen­tre when the po­lice car with its sirens on turned into the one-way street dur­ing an emer­gency. The driver was pros­e­cuted for driv­ing with­out due care and at­ten­tion.

Doc­u­ments re­veal the ve­hi­cle, val­ued at £14,616, was “dam­aged be­yond af­ford­able re­pair”.

One male and two fe­male cops in the car were injured.

A South Wales Po­lice Fed­er­a­tion spokesman said: “Po­lice of­fi­cers have to make split-sec­ond de­ci­sions un­der huge pres­sure and oc­ca­sion­ally make the wrong de­ci­sion.”
