DROG VOWS TO GET ON ROAD TO RIO

Midweek Sport - - THURSDAY OCTOBER 11 -

DIDIER DROGBA is targeting a place at the next World Cup – at the age of 36.

The former Chelsea striker is determined to reach Rio and score the goals to get Ivory Coast out of the group stages to make up for their 2010 disappointment.

“It would be massive to qualify for the World Cup, for a small country like Ivory Coach, a country that had never taken part before 2006,” said Drogba.

“And if it happened, we would certainly be aiming higher than finishing third in our group.”

Drogba insists he has unfinished business in the African Nations Cup too.

“If it ever happens, it would mean a lot to the country and it would be great for me and my team-mates,” he added.
