CUP OF JOY FOR JACK
JACK WILSHERE has been given the green light for his Arsenal comeback at the end of the month.
The midfielder, 20, has been pencilled in for a start in the Capital One Cup clash with Reading on October 30.
Wilshere (left) played 78 minutes for Arsenal’s reserves on Monday against Reading and set up two goals. The England international missed the whole of last season with an ankle injury and then had minor knee surgery in May this year.
Defender Bacary Sagna also made his first start since May after recovering from the second broken leg of his career.
The French full-back said: “It is amazing to be back, I have been waiting for this moment for five months.
“Everything went well and we won, so I am very happy.
“When you have such a big injury once, you take it – but twice is hard.
“In my mind I was a bit sad, but the next day I was ready for the challenge to come back stronger.”
