AL BE KING OF KICKS – NOT MARIO

Midweek Sport - - THURSDAY OCTOBER 11 -

ALEKSANDER KOLAROV has been told to keep arguing with Man City pal Mario Balotelli.

Kolarov is emerging as City’s set-piece specialist – much to madcap Mario’s frustration.

The Serbian’s stunning free-kick set Roberto Mancini’s troops on their way to a 3-0 win over Sunderland last Saturday.

Kolarov took the shot after words were exchanged with Balotelli, who was also keen to have a crack.

But City coach David Platt believes Kolarov should keep fighting his corner – and tell Balotelli who’s boss.

Platt said: “Ally deserves the goals he has got in the last few weeks from set-pieces.

“He religiously, three times a week, stays out in training for 10 minutes extra and keeps putting them in.

“Ask keeper Richard Wright – he has got a bad back from picking them out of the goal!

“Ally has put a lot of work in on his free-kicks so he deserves the goals.”
