You thieving Kunst!
SEVEN paintings worth £200MILLION, by artists including Picasso and Monet, have been stolen from a Dutch gallery.
The theft at Rotterdam’s Kunsthal museum is a stunning blow for the private Triton Foundation collection – which was being exhibited publicly as a group for the first time.
The collection was on display for the Kunsthal’s 20th anniversary.
Police said they were reviewing videotapes of the theft, which took place at 3am local time, and calling for witnesses to come forward.
They have not said how the theft took place.
The stolen works include Pablo Picasso’s 1971 “Harlequin Head” ( left).
Independent experts said the paintings would be impossible to sell on the open market and that some “dodgy Chinaman” will probably buy them.
