Drug dealer’s win­dow pain

A DRUG dealer who staged a spec­tac­u­lar es­cape bid from a Crown Court had his dash for free­dom shat­tered.

Ge­orge Qa­tramiz, 28, leapt from the dock then ran through the build­ing in a search for the exit.

But the fugi­tive’s bid for free­dom came to end when he tried to jump through the win­dow of a court­room door.

He was dragged back by se­cu­rity staff af­ter not re­al­is­ing there were two un­locked doors on ei­ther side of him.

Qa­tramiz, from Pid­dinghoe, near Newhaven, re­ceived an ad­di­tional six-month jail sen­tence at Guild­ford Crown Court.

He pleaded guilty to es­cap­ing from law­ful cus­tody, crim­i­nal dam­age and as­sault by beat­ing. He also ad­mit­ted two of­fences of threat­en­ing be­hav­iour.
