OAP cheats death from heavy metal
A PETRIFIED pensioner cheated death after 40 TONNES of crushed cars landed on top of her.
The 63-year-old was driving her Vauxhall Corsa in Bromley, Kent, when a lorry overturned, tipping the metal on top of her car and across the road.
Amazingly, once firefighters cut her out, she emerged unscathed.
A police spokesman said: “A tipper lorry fully laden with crushed vehicles and other metals turned over on to its side and the 40-tonne cargo tipped out on to the Vauxhall Corsa.
“Somewhat incredibly, the crushed vehicles and metal were pulled from the car, and after the roof of her vehicle was cut away, she was found with just a few scratches.”
The lorry driver and the woman were treated for minor injuries and shock at a hospital in Orpington.
