Ford flood car man drowned
A WOMAN screamed that she had killed her husband after driving their car into a flooded ford, an inquest heard.
Jonathan Gammon, 52, drowned when the car was swept downstream by fast-flowing water after his wife Priscilla escaped through a window.
Mrs Gammon ( said the water looked “deceptive” and “shallow” at Headley, Berks, after torrential rain on April 30.
She told the inquest she did not remember how she got out of the car and swam to safety.
Dorothea Ryan, who was out walking her dog, helped pull Priscilla from the water, said: “She said ‘I killed my husband’.”
Coroner for North East Hampshire, Andrew Bradley, recorded a verdict of accidental death.
