AR­SE­NAL striker Lukas Podol­ski is con­fi­dent of ex­tend­ing his hot scor­ing record against Schalke.

The Ger­many in­ter­na­tional is look­ing to shoot down his fel­low coun­try­men in their Cham­pi­ons League clash at the Emi­rates.

And Schalke have ev­ery rea­son to fear Podol­ski as he was a reg­u­lar scorer against them while at Cologne.

“I have a good his­tory with them. In each of the past two or three games I played against them I have scored, so I quite like play­ing against them,” said Podol­ski.

“Hope­fully I can do it again in the Cham­pi­ons League.”

Schalke are third in the Bun­desliga – where they fin­ished last sea­son – and beat champs Borus­sia Dort­mund on Satur­day.

The Gun­ners flopped at Nor­wich that day and Podol­ski warned they must be much bet­ter.

He said: “Schalke are a very strong team, the strong­est we will face in the group stage.

“If we can win this game we will be very well-placed.

“They will be tough to beat, but we must go for the three points.”

De­fender An­dre San­tos is con­fi­dent the Gun­ners will do well in Europe.
