POLICE are hunting a woman thug who punched a French tourist visiting Shakespeare’s Stratfordupon-Avon after telling him: “Welcome to England”.
The 25-year-old woman left her 21-year-old victim bloodied and bruised after thumping him in the face during the late night attack last week.
The student had been chatting with a group of people outside a nightclub in the picturesque Warwickshire town when he was approached by the woman.
She said “Welcome to England” before punching him in the eye which broke his glasses.
A police spokesman said: “The student was approached by the woman, believed to be around 25 years old, and she said ‘Welcome to England’ then punched him in the eye.
“If anyone witnessed the attack or has any information could they please come forward.”
