CAR BLIMEY! The Viper escaped from this bullet riddled Mazda (above) and later survived seven wounds while in the

Audi (below) dodge the bullets as round after round made contact with the vehicle.

One round grazed him on the side of his head, but miraculously caused only a cut, which left him bleeding badly but still very much alive.

Police were on the scene within minutes

“This is getting f***ing ridiculous. I don’t know what I am going to do about it,” he told them. UT it was the same old story for the veteran crook on Saturday January 26, 2008.

He put his gym bag into the boot of his green Audi A6 and drove the car towards the exit of the gym car park. Foley stopped at the junction of Kimmage Road West when a man wearing a balaclava and brandishing a gun ran towards him.

Foley barely had time to register what was happening

Bbefore the gunman opened fire with a Glock 9mm semiautomatic pistol. The shooter was less than three feet away from Foley when he pulled the trigger and within seconds seven rounds had been fired, all hitting their target.

Foley was struck in the hip, spine, kidney and three times in the shoulder. One round bounced off his skull near his right eye, amazingly causing little or no damage.

His legendary survival instincts kicked in and he crouched under the steering wheel and managed to continue to drive the car. The gunman fired four more shots but the Audi sped across the road and crashed into a garden wall. Doctors were unsure if Foley would survive the five-hour operation to remove the bullets lodged in his body.

Twelve days after he was shot outside the gym, Martin Foley woke up.

Remarkably, there was no long-term damage to his health, save a few more battle scars.

Gangland’s Rasputin had survived again and the Grim Reaper would have to wait to bring the criminal on his final journey home.
