CHAT­TER­ING Brits are more cheer­ful now than they were last year, ac­cord­ing to a new study of our on­line com­ments.

Anal­y­sis of so­cial me­dia con­ver­sa­tions found the num­ber of peo­ple ex­press­ing their hap­pi­ness in life has gone up by eight per cent.

At the same time, talk of our stress lev­els had de­creased by a huge 33 per cent when com­pared to 2011.

The Queen’s di­a­mond ju­bilee cel­e­bra­tions gave us a morale boost, and the Olympics at least in­creased of go­ing to the gym by 19 per cent.

Mean­while, we are also more happy in our jobs as the study showed a 12 per cent rise in so­cial me­dia posts ex­press­ing con­tent­ment at work.

The study, by busi­ness in­for­ma­tion group Pre­cise, sug­gests Brits be­lieve the econ­omy is im­prov­ing.
