PULIS GETS FUNDS FOR LEFT-BACK

Midweek Sport - - THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1 -

STOKE chairman Peter Coates has told Tony Pulis he will make funds available in January to replace crocked left-back Marc Wilson.

The Ireland defender has been ruled out for at least three months after breaking his leg against Sunderland.

But, with rightfooted Andy Wilkinson the only cover available, Pulis is short of cover.

“I don’t think you get value for money in the January window,” said Coates.

“But if we need a left-back, then we will have to do something about it in January.

“It’s something we will have to assess at the time, whether it be a loan or something more permanent.

“I suppose we have been rather fortunate up to now in avoiding long-term injuries.”
