OH SNOW...NOT AGAIN!
FRESH snowfall and gale force winds in parts of Britain caused massive disruption yesterday, just weeks after severe weather led to school closures and transport problems.
More than 50 schools shut in Northern Ireland and Scotland, and there were delays at Manchester, Leeds Bradford and Belfast City airports.
Because the snow hardly affected London, the major of news channels did not fly into the full-on panic mode they adopt when a few flakes fall on the capital.
Snow fell overnight on Monday in northern Britain, with up to 4” on higher ground.
Flurries continued throughout yesterday as winds gusted up to 70mph.
The Met Office issued yellow warnings for snow for much of Scotland and England.
Strong winds added to difficult driving conditions in affected parts of the UK and drivers were urged to be careful – particularly on untreated roads.
