AUSTERITY measures have hit jobs, government funded services and house prices – and it’s now been revealed the economic downturn is preventing women flashing the flesh!

According to a behavioural psychologist, women are far LESS likely to strip off during a recession.

It’s all down to insecurity, worry and instability – causing women to dress more conservatively in a bid to feel more protected.

Professor Stephen Cane, from the University of West Lancs, explained: “When times are good, economically-speaking, it creates feelings of confidence and a general carefree attitude in members of society.

“Women tend to become more flirtatious and uninhibited in the way they dress. Clothes become more revealing as women strip off to show a flash of leg, bare shoulders and back, or more cleavage.

“In times of recession, people are more wary. There’s a dark cloud in the air, mood is lowered, and this is reflected in the way people dress.

“For women, this tends to mean more conservative clothing. They no longer feel as confident about their looks, will cover up and are less likely to strip off and flirt.”

But there are still some women who can be counted on to flash the flesh – as you can see here.

Cassie Summer, 28, flashed her pert bum on a night out in London, while Aisleyne HorganWallace, 34, and a whole host of other busty babes flashed their boobs for the cameras.

“There are exceptions to every rule,” said Prof Cane.

And that’s great news for us!
