OAP stashes £1m in boot
A PENSIONER pulled over by cops in a routine check found £1MILLION stashed in her car.
Volvo driver Carole Galvez, 62, was stopped for driving in the wrong lane and with an illegal number plate.
Officers were stunned to open the boot and find an the vast sum of cash wrapped in plastic bags, believed to be linked to a drug ring.
Police spokesman Brad Parsons said: “Cash amounts this large are usually connected to illegal drug trafficking.
“Drugs destroy lives and rip families apart, but when our offices apply training and solid police work, they are able to stop them from harming people.”
Galvez, of Collinsville, Illinois, is being held in jail and if found guilty of money laundering, could face 15 years jail.
