OAP stashes £1m in boot

A PEN­SIONER pulled over by cops in a rou­tine check found £1MIL­LION stashed in her car.

Volvo driver Ca­role Galvez, 62, was stopped for driv­ing in the wrong lane and with an il­le­gal num­ber plate.

Of­fi­cers were stunned to open the boot and find an the vast sum of cash wrapped in plas­tic bags, be­lieved to be linked to a drug ring.

Po­lice spokesman Brad Par­sons said: “Cash amounts this large are usu­ally con­nected to il­le­gal drug traf­fick­ing.

“Drugs de­stroy lives and rip fam­i­lies apart, but when our of­fices ap­ply train­ing and solid po­lice work, they are able to stop them from harm­ing peo­ple.”

Galvez, of Collinsville, Illi­nois, is be­ing held in jail and if found guilty of money laun­der­ing, could face 15 years jail.
