con­tract MANCH­ESTER CITY are eye­ing an eye­wa­ter­ing sum­mer spend to get back on track in their bid to be­come Europe’s best.

The cash-splash­ing will see Napoli strike sen­sa­tion Edin­son Ca­vani and Atletico Madrid goal ma­chine Radamel Fal­cao tar­geted in what could be a £100mil­lion spend.

Roberto Mancini saw his side fall nine points be­hind United in the ti­tle race at the week­end.

And although the Ital­ian re­mains adamant that City can claw their way back into the Pre­mier League pic­ture over the next few weeks, the Blues’ top brass are now look­ing fur­ther ahead.

Mancini has four years to run on his deal and should be given the chance to start next sea­son as long as City pro­duce a strong fin­ish.
