Beg kills Man U ‘done deal’ talk

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

ASMIR BEGOVIC admits he expects

to be sold by Stoke in the summer – but insists

a much-hyped move to Manchester United is not a done

deal. Stoke captur ed 19-year-old England

goalkeeper Jack Butland on transfer deadline

day and are now in a position to let Begovic

leave for £15million. United and Manchester City are

in the hunt to sign the highly-rated Bosnian keeper, Old 25. T rafford boss Sir Alex Fer guson

wants to replace the inconsistent David De

Gea in the summer and sees Begovic as the ideal replacement. But Begovic said: “I read in the

papers that I said no to City and yes to United. But

thetruth is, I haven’t decided on anything. “I didn’t say yes or no to anybody.

I haven’t signed anything – no contract, no pre-contract. “But I believe that Stoke didn’t

buy Butland to be a reserve, so I think I will be sold

in the summer. “I can’t move to a smaller club

and only the top clubs interested in me can afford

the fee.”
