OAP goes 7 miles up the wrong ’un
A ‘CONFUSED’ pensioner drove at speed the wrong way down a motorway for seven miles.
Concerned drivers called 999 when they were forced to swerve out of the path of the on-coming Peugeot 207, driven by a man in his 70s.
He was spotted going westbound in the fast lane of the eastbound M27 near junction 8, for Hamble, Hants.
Officers took 10 minutes to stop the blue hatchback as the OAP drove towards Rownhams services, at 3am on Monday.
Cops from the Totton Roads Policing Unit said the driver appeared to be in a “confused” state.
After speaking to the man and after considering the circumstances officers decided no further action would be taken.
