INTER FINED FOR RACIST MARIO JIBES
INTER MILAN have been fined £12,900 by Serie A after racist chants were directed at AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli during Sunday’s league match against Chievo.
Former Inter striker Balotelli, who has scored three goals in two games since joining Milan in January, was the target of a section of Nerazzurri fans who sang racist chants about him towards the end of each half.
Inter president Massimo Moratti said: “I’m very sorry and I really hope it doesn’t happen during the Milan derby on February 24.”
Juventus were also fined £12,900 after their fans sang territorial songs about Napoli supporters during a 2-0 win over Fiorentina.
Napoli were fined the same amount after a laser pen was shone at referee Daniele Orsato during a 1-1 draw with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
