Savile paedo penthouse to be torn down

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

THE new owners of Jimmy Savile’s penthouse plan to level the flat and remove all trace of the disgraced TV star.

CXI 92 Ltd bought the fifth-floor pad in a luxury apartment block in the plush Roundhay area of Leeds, West Yorks, for a snip.

It was expected to reach £325,000 on the market, but when the revelations into Savile’s sordid personal life came to light the price tumbled to £250,000.

A spokesman for the firm said: “We are going to demolish and completely rebuild the property before selling it or possibly using it as a rental property.

“We are going to demolish it in the next six months to two years.”

He added the the work would not affect any of the other apartments in the Lake View Court block.

Savile bought the flat in the 1970s and died there in 2011, aged 84.

It went up for sale last September, shortly before the household name was unmasked as a serial nonce.
