Ex-man City kid back in jail after balls up
SHAMED Manchester City starlet Courtney Meppen-Walter is back behind bars after prison chiefs admitted they released the teenager by mistake.
The ex-Blues player, 18, was released after serving four months of a 16-month jail term for causing two deaths in a car crash.
Prison chiefs later asked cops to return the former England youth international after realising he should never have been set free.
It is understood he volunteered to return to prison of his own free will when police visited his home.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: “He fully co-operated once he had been officially informed of the error.”
Meppen-Walter was nearly double the 30mph speed limit when he smashed his Mercedes into a Nissan Micra in Manchester last September.
Nissan driver Kulwant Singh, 32, and sister Ravel Kaur, 37, both from the city, were pronounced dead at the scene.
