Ex-man City kid back in jail af­ter balls up

SHAMED Manch­ester City star­let Court­ney Mep­pen-Wal­ter is back be­hind bars af­ter prison chiefs ad­mit­ted they re­leased the teenager by mis­take.

The ex-Blues player, 18, was re­leased af­ter serv­ing four months of a 16-month jail term for caus­ing two deaths in a car crash.

Prison chiefs later asked cops to re­turn the for­mer Eng­land youth in­ter­na­tional af­ter real­is­ing he should never have been set free.

It is un­der­stood he vol­un­teered to re­turn to prison of his own free will when po­lice vis­ited his home.

A spokes­woman for Greater Manch­ester Po­lice said: “He fully co-op­er­ated once he had been of­fi­cially in­formed of the er­ror.”

Mep­pen-Wal­ter was nearly dou­ble the 30mph speed limit when he smashed his Mercedes into a Nis­san Mi­cra in Manch­ester last Septem­ber.

Nis­san driver Kul­want Singh, 32, and sis­ter Ravel Kaur, 37, both from the city, were pro­nounced dead at the scene.
