O’neil Hammers out a new offer
MIDFIELDER Gary O’Neil has signed a contract extension to stay at West Ham.
The 30-year-old was out of contract, but after playing 27 games for the Hammers last season, manager Sam Allardyce has rewarded the former Portsmouth and Middlesbrough man with a new deal.
And O’Neil admitted discussions did drag on a bit longer than expected.
“Everything’s been agreed,” O’Neil said.
“I didn’t need a medical, obviously they know me quite well. All the terms are agreed and everyone’s happy. It took a little while. With everyone being on holiday stuff drags out, but we got there in the end.”
