Schwarzer brings career to Ful stop
VETERAN goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer tops the list of six first-team players leaving Fulham.
The 40-year-old turned down several offers of a new deal at Craven Cottage and found his No.1 status in doubt after manager Martin Jol signed Maarten Stekelenburg from Roma for £4million last month.
Schwarzer is seeking first-team football as he looks to make Australia’s World Cup squad for next summer’s tournament in Brazil.
Winger Simon Davies, the club’s longest-serving player, as well as midfielders Chris Baird and Giorgos Karagounis have also been shown the door as Jol looks to rebuild his squad after a late slump last season.
Striker Mladen Petric, who lasted just one season in south London, is no longer wanted.
And back-up keeper Csaba Somogyi is also after a new club.
