Arthur pa­pers claim ten­sions are rife in Aussie camp

AUS­TRALIA’S pr epa­ra­tions for the sec­ond Test have been plunged into tur­moil.

For­mer coach Mickey Ar thur has al­leged in le­gal pa­pers that opener Shane Wat­son is a “can­cer” in the team.

South African Ar thur is su­ing Cricket Aus­tralia for £2.5mil­lion af­ter be­ing sacked 16 days be­fore the Ashes se­ries to bere­placed by for­mer Baggy Green Dar­ren Lehmann.

Re­ports be­ing used as par t of his case show that ten­sions be­tween skip­per Clarke and for mer vice-cap­tain Wat­son are rife.

But wick­et­keeper Brad Haddin in­sisted: “The Aus­tralian dress­ing room is fine. Ther e is no feud be­tween Michael and Shane.

“This has not af fected our side. W e ar e her e to play an Ashes cam­paign. Our job is to get on with this cam­paign.”
