NEWCASTLE are in the running to sign the “Red Terrorist” – Olympiakos striker Rafik Djebbour.
The Algerian is rated at £2.25million after finishing top scorer in Greece last season with 20 goals in 24 games.
Djebbour (right) earned his nickname from fans for the way he terrorises defences in the red of the Piraeus club.
Marseille are also interested in the Frenchborn 29-year-old, who recently signed a new contract until 2016.
Darren Bent remains Newcastle’s top target as Alan Pardew looks to strengthen in attack.
But with doubts over the long-term future of last season’s top scorer Papiss Cisse, and Shola Ameobi set to end a 13-year stay at St James’ Park, the Toon manager is keeping his options open to avoid being left short up front.
