Queen gets a Brit more real

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

THE last time I bothered to watch BBC1 costume drama The White Queen, it was all porcelain skin and perfect teeth, making the English royal court look more like an American teen soap. Beverly Hills 902AD, perhaps.

Now it appears to have morphed into something far less aspirational – where everyone is just hanging around, bitching and shagging and slagging each other off.

So at least it feels more British and far more real. Lordy Shore, maybe? Re Badults, the new BBC3 sitcom about pathetic, immature men sharing a dingy flat: scraping the Bottom of the barrel. Ex-good footballer Harry Kewell was on Mr & Mrs on ITV1. During his final season at Liverpool, he was on Waste-a-run Misses. You haven’t seen BBC2 comedy Count Arthur Strong? Count Yourself Lucky.
