Rebecca: I fear sea mon­sters!

OLYMPIC swim cham­pion Rebecca Adling­ton has NEVER been for a dip in the sea… be­cause she’s TER­RI­FIED of mon­sters of the deep!

The 24-year-old ( who won two golds at the Lon­don Olympics for the 400m and 800m races, ad­mit­ted be­ing scared of open wa­ter and of be­ing at­tacked by crea­tures.

The champ, who re­tired in Fe­bru­ary this year af­ter be­com­ing the first Brit to win dou­ble Olympic golds since 1908, said that she would only ever swim out to sea if she was in­vis­i­ble.

Af­ter be­ing asked what she would do if she was in­vis­i­ble for a day, she said: “I’d go for a swim way out in the sea, which I’ve never done be­fore be­cause I’m ter­ri­fied of what’s un­derneath me.”
