Evil ads Dead scary for kids
A SERIES of scary TV ads for the horror film
triggered dozens of complaints from parents after it was screened before 7.30pm.
Watchdogs launched an investigation after receiving 28 complaints, 27 of which said it was “inappropriately scheduled” while one challenged whether the ad was offensive.
One of the four ads showed a figure rising from a swamp, a man holding a chainsaw, a knife passing in front of a woman’s bloodied face and a woman vanishing through a trapdoor.
Advertising Standards chiefs ruled the ads breached rules regarding scheduling and should have been given a post 7.30pm restriction, though they did not breach rules regarding harm and offence.
