WOOT’S ALL WHITE
LEEDS are nearing a deal to bring Man United defender Scott Wootton to Elland Road.
Wootton, 21, (below) did not travel on the Reds’ pre-season tour, signalling the end of his career at Old Trafford.
New boss David Moyes believes the defender is not good enough and is happy to allow him to find first-team football elsewhere. He was set for a loan move to Leeds but the clubs are now discussing a permanent switch. Whites boss Brian McDermott hopes to get a deal tied up for Wootton in time for the trip to Ipswich on Saturday. Wootton is on a month-by-month contract at Old Trafford so Leeds will only have to pay a nominal fee.
