Parker’s Ful of hope fans will love him
SCOTT PARKER hopes he can become a fans’ favourite at Fulham – even though he used to play for Chelsea.
Parker, 32, turned down Queens Park Rangers to join the Cottagers from Spurs for £3.5million.
Fulham are the England midfielder’s seventh club and the fans won’t have forgotten his time at west London rivals Chelsea.
But Parker has signed a three-year deal and is determined to win them over. He said: “I just want them to respect me.
“They’ve seen the way I play and they know the character I am.
“Every club I’ve been at I’ve forged a very good relationship with the fans. I’m hoping it will be the same at Fulham.”
Harry Redknapp was keen to bring him to QPR but in the end another ex-Spurs boss, Martin Jol, won his signature.
Parker added: “Staying in the Premier League was very important.”
