CARDIFF boss Malky Mackay says his players will be brought back down to earth with a bump in the League Cup against Accrington Stanley if they are not careful.

The Bluebirds beat Manchester City on Sunday, but a midweek cup defeat to League Two Stanley would quickly burst their bubble.

“The belief we had, against the best team in the league, is something we can take into next week and the week after,” Mackay said.

“But we should not take Accrington lightly. The lads have to keep their feet on the ground.”

Accrington boss James Beattie says the game is massive for the club and wants to see a muchimproved performance than their recent home defeat to Cheltenham.

“It’s a huge week for us, and a huge week for the club,” Beattie said.

“I will be looking to players to see how they react from a disappointing defeat because we need a response.”
