MART GIVES FIRST START TO GERARD
EVERTON boss Roberto Martinez says teenage star Gerard Deulofeu
has substance as well as style as he prepares to give the Barcelona loanee his debut against Stevenage.
“He’s a crowd pleaser with the style and talent that he uses in his play, but he’s got a real end product,” Martinez said.
“But he is also ready to win battles, win fights and doesn’t get intimidated that easily.
“Barcelona think Gerard will be a top player, who will be important for their first team. So we are lucky to have him.”
Graham Westley, manager of League One Stevenage, will approach the game at Goodison Park as if was any other match.
“I don’t look at it as a big day,” Westley said. “I look at it as the next game and to win any game you’ve got to prepare properly.
“First and foremost you’ve got to give the opposition the respect they deserve.”
