‘Poisoner’ hated mum for love loss
A WOMAN accused of poisoning her mum in a murder plot inspired by
has confessed to hating her for scuppering her chances of love.
Kuntal Patel allegedly gave the toxin Abrin to “manipulative, controlling and selfish” Meena Patel after she “forbade” her from marrying her fiancé, Niraj Kakad.
Graphic designer Patel, 37, is said to have bought the poison from an American site. Southwark Crown Court heard Meena drank it but survived.
In cross-examination she agreed her mother was “...a roadblock to ruining what seemed to you at the time your one shot chance of getting married, having a family.”
Kuntal, from Stratford, east London, admits attempting to acquire a toxin, but denies attempted murder.
