Only Twits get to see Russell live

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

RUSSELL Brand won’t let you attend his upcoming live show – unless you have TWITTER.

The tubthumping comedian ( above) will be discussing his career and new political book Revolution with U.S. radio host Ron Bennington later this month.

The event takes place in Manhattan, New York, but tickets are NOT available for general sale.

Instead people must sign up to Twitter, follow a particular account and request a seat.

Sources say that Brand, 39, is using Twitter because he “hates capitalism” and “thinks everything should be free”.

But he now faces a backlash from fans who don’t want to sign up to a public social network in order to get tickets.

One web user said: “Is Russell being paid by Twitter to get them more sign-ups? Why can’t people just order on the website?”
