GIRLS ‘STILL SELL SEX’ TO GET INTO FILMS X-Files Gillian slams randy movie bosses

Midweek Sport - - NEWS - By NEIL GOODWIN neil@sundaysport.co.uk

THE X Files babe Gillian Anderson has slammed Hollywood producers who subject actresses to the ‘casting couch’ experience.

The fabled practice sees women performing sex acts on bigwigs in return for roles in movies.

Gillian, 46, said that it’s still taking place – and blasted it as intolerable.

The American actress, who appears in new serial killer TV series The Fall, slammed: “At the beginning of my career, the pay disparity was massive.

Abused

“But that happens all the time in Hollywood.

“It’s, ‘Do this for me, I’ll get you a job.’

“All the stuff in the papers today about people in entertainment who have abused their position…

“Sexism is built into our society – it’s easy to miss and it’s easy to get used to it.”

Gillian, who in 1996 was voted the ‘Sexiest Woman in the World’ for FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women poll, added: “There are things that are intolerable in today’s world in terms of the perception of women.

“Whether they are vamps or vixens, the expectation is that, if a woman is wearing a short skirt, she’s ‘asking for it’.”
