JAMES MIL­NER in­sists there is no risk of a Kevin Pi­etersen-style rift in the Three Lions dress­ing room.

Pi­etersen this week lifted the lid on the rows and cliques that ripped apart the Eng­land cricket team.

But Manch­ester City mid­fielder Mil­ner in­sists there is a unity among the na­tion’s top foot­ballers.

And he cred­its Three Lions chief Roy Hodg­son with cre­at­ing the cor­rect en­vi­ron­ment for the squad dur­ing in­ter­na­tional breaks.

Mil­ner said: “We have team meet­ings as a full team. Over the last cou­ple of years we have had unit meet­ings to work on spe­cific sec­tions of the pitch and then go into a big meet­ing. The man­ager wants to voice an opin­ion. He wants our feed­back as well. He wants dis­cus­sions on what is best for the team. I think those meet­ings help.

“No player will ever sit there and say it’s a ter­ri­ble at­mos­phere, but it’s a great bunch of lads. It’s a tight-knit group.
