Miss banned over topless selfie to pupil

Midweek Sport - - NEWS -

A FEMALE teacher who sent a TOPLESS selfie to one of her former pupils has been banned from working in schools.

Linda Harvey, 43, sent an “indecent image” to a 16-year-old boy just four months after he left Park High School, in Colne, Lancs, a professional conduct panel heard.

Mrs Harvey, who had worked at the school for 10 years, admitted sending texts to the teen along with Facebook messages.

The intimate picture, which showed “a bare-breasted woman from the neck down who has been identified as Mrs Harvey” was sent in November 2012.

The former teaching assistant was found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and bringing her profession into disrepute by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.

She has to wait at least five years before she can apply to have the ban lifted.

In a written statement about her behaviour, Mrs Harvey said: “I would like to apologise for any upset and distress caused to the ex-pupil who I let down badly.”
