BLADES DIVIDED OVER DEAL FOR RAPIST CHED
SHEFFIELD UNITED are split over whether to re-sign convicted rapist Ched Evans.
The striker is due out of prison on Friday after being found guilty of attacking a drunk 19-year-old in a hotel room in 2012.
The 25-year-old has been keeping fit in prison and is thought to have several offers to return to football.
Club officials and supporters at Bramall Lane are divided over whether to give Evans a second chance.
Evans is a proven goalscorer – he bagged 35 in his last season before he was jailed – but the Blades fear a backlash if they bring him back.
About 140,000 people have signed a petition urging the club not to re-sign Evans.
