Inter keen on Eto’o reunion
EVERTON are facing a fight to hold on to striker Samuel Eto’o as Inter Milan look to bring the veteran striker back to the San Siro.
Sampdoria are also interested in the former Chelsea and Barcelona striker (above).
Everton boss Roberto Martinez insisted there had been no approaches for the 33-year-old ahead of the Toffees’ FA Cup replay at West Ham last night.
But that looks likely to change before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Inter vice president Javier Zanetti said: “He did some extraordinary things with us and now he wants to come back to Italy. His return to Serie A would be most welcome.”
Eto’o, who joined Everton as a free agent on an 18-month deal last summer, was a Champions League and Serie A title winner with Inter during a two-year spell with the club from 2009 to 2011.
