Eyeties have eye on Jovetic
ON THE MOVE: Jovetic JUVENTUS will try to lure Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic back to Italy.
The Serie A leaders have denied an interest in Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli.
But they have sounded out City about the possibility of a move for Jovetic.
The Montenegro international, 25, enjoyed a productive spell with Fiorentina before joining City for £22million in July, 2013.
But he has never really hit it off in an injuryplagued stay at the Etihad.
And with Swansea’s Wilfried Bony on his way to City in a £28m deal, the champions may be tempted to cash in.
Boss Manuel Pellegrini wants to bolster his striking options after injuries recently left him without a frontline striker.
But Sergio Aguero is back to fitness and and Edin Dzeko – an ambitious loan target for Stoke City – will be back for Sunday’s game at home to Arsenal.
City won’t do business until just before the transfer window closes with Bony not due to back from the Africa Cup of Nations until next month.
But they’re happy that allowing Jovetic to leave before the summer is not too big a risk.
