Hardest lag Bronson in heartbreak love split
LIFER Charlie Bronson is “heartbroken” after splitting up from his fiancee.
The 62-year-old inmate, often dubbed Britain’s most violent prisoner, proposed to Lorraine Etherington back in January 2011.
Miss Etherington has been one of Bronson’s most loyal and vocal supporters for the past four years after setting up the Charlie Bronson Appeal Fund (CBAF).
The Fund aims to highlight the fact that Bronson, who changed his name to Charles Salvador last year, has been in prison for more than 40 years, despite never being convicted of murder or rape.
It was announced earlier this month, however, that the CBAF was closing – since Miss Etherington and Bronson split.
Bronson – real name Michael Peterson – was first jailed after being convicted of armed robbery back in 1974.
He has been in prison – apart from 130 days outside – every day for the last 41 years, including 36 years in solitary, due to his violent outbursts, attacks on prison wardens and kidnap bids.
Lorraine co-authored his most recent book, Broadmoor: My Journey into Hell, which was published earlier this month.
