Perfect! DIANA Princess of Wales’s brother Earl Spencer says the Duke of Cambridge’s popularity has secured the monarchy for the next generation.

But Charles Spencer, known for the “blood family” eulogy he delivered at Lady Di’s funeral, suggested this could change in 100 years’ time.

William’s uncle, who was promoting his historical novel about the execution of Charles I, said: “Maybe in 100 years things will change, but now William’s popular so the throne is secure for the next generation.

“Aware of politics and French and Russian revolutions, the Court’s adapted over centuries to survive.

“Scandals come every decade and disappear quickly. Learning to live with their power, they’re bulletproof.”

William ( is second in line to the throne, behind his father, Charles.

The Earl paid tribute to his sister at Westminster Abbey in 1997 and made a promise to her to care for William and Prince Harry.

He was a guest at the Abbey when Wills wed Kate Middleton there in 2011.
