Paddy given a glovely back-up job
IPSWICH have signed veteran keeper Paddy Kenny to make sure injuries don’t derail their promotion bid.
The former Republic of Ireland shot-stopper has agreed a four-month deal as cover for firstchoice Bartosz Bialkowski.
Dean Gerken is out with a hip injury, so Town boss Mick McCarthy lured Kenny to Portman Road from Bolton.
Kenny will be on the bench at Brighton tonight and the Tractor Boys are hoping he can add to his tally of promotions.
The 36-year-old went up to the Premier League with Sheffield United in 2006 and QPR in 2011.
Ipswich will go top if they win at the Amex Stadium, while Brighton are still in the relegation mix.
Albion have defensive problems, with Lewis Dunk banned and Greg Halford injured.
That opens the door for 35-year-old Aaron Hughes to make a rare start after waiting six weeks to get his chance.
