£5M IS RUDY RIGHT PRICE
NOT FOR SALE: Christian Benteke DON’T BE COCKY TOTTY: Kyle Walker has told his team-mates not to take victory over Sheffield United for granted CRYSTAL PALACE have been told they will have to pay £5million to land Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede. Rovers have rejected a £3.5m offer for the Benin hitman and are demanding £6m. But a revised bid of £5m should be enough to land the 26-year-old (left), who has bagged 12 goals in 23 Championship games this season. Gestede expects to move, having sat out Rovers’ 1-1 draw with Wigan at the weekend.
Agent David Wancier said: “Crystal Palace made an offer to Blackburn last week, but it was rejected.
“Now the clubs have to discuss to try to find a solution. The player really wants to sign for Crystal Palace.
“Rudy has been enjoying this season and just wants to play football. He just wants the club to consider this great opportunity for him to achieve his ambition to play in the Premier League.”
Palace boss Alan Pardew has already signed one striker after bringing in Yaya Sanogo on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.
Swansea’s Bafetimbi Gomis and Troy Deeney of Watford are also targets, but Palace have been put off by the pair’s price tag of £9m-plus.
