MANCHESTER CITY striker Sergio Aguero claims new boy Wilfried Bony is the perfect fit for the Premier League champions. The hitmen look primed to form a deadly partnership when Bony links up with City following his £25million move from Swansea. Bony (left) is currently on international duty alongside City midfielder Yaya Toure with the Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 26-year-old is due at the Etihad Stadium next month and Aguero believes Bony’s experience of the Premier League will be crucial to City’s chances of trying to overhaul Chelsea in the title race.

Aguero said: “We’re always very happy when we get new players. The idea is always that this is done in the spirit of improving the overall performance of the team.

“Since Wilfried has been playing in England, he should be able to take the pressure of competing in the Premier League.

“So he will be a very good signing. We are very thankful for this.”

Bony eclipsed even Aguero for goals scored in 2014 as his 20 in the calendar year was the highest in the Premier League.

With Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic for back-up, City hope their firepower can challenge Chelsea and Barcelona, who they meet in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Ivory Coast play their final ACN group game on January 28, but they are expected to reach at least the quarter-finals on February 1.
