Falklands vet jailed over bathroom spy camera
A PHYSIOTHERAPIST who set up a hidden camera in a bathroom to spy on a female student he was treating has been jailed.
Tom Heel, 55, hid the recorder in a small box in his victim’s house to film her going to the toilet, back in November 2012.
The girl had pulled a muscle in her back and was being treated by Heel when she found the camera in her bathroom.
She confronted Heel in his garage, where he smashed up his computer with a hammer, shouting it was “evil”.
Heel was jailed for eight months at Stafford Crown Court after he admitted two charges of voyeurism.
He said: “I gained sexual gratification when the image was observed on two occasions.”
Former Falklands and Gulf War hero Heel, of Kinver, Staffs, was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
Recorder Tracey Lloyd-Nesling said: “You have held some really responsible positions.
“At the time you were under stress and suffering from a depressive illness. Only an immediate custodial sentence is appropriate.”
